Legal Employers generally have had a fairly easy time identifying good law student candidates to hire for Summer clerkships or ats first-year associates. The task of identifying a good candidate simply meant looking for a law student who had decent grades, some legal writing experience or some practical legal experience in a clinic or clerkship.
